Plague of Life is a-comin’

My readers are coming along nicely on Plague of Life, the last in my Rankin Flats supernatural thrillers, but I’ve kinda found myself wishing they hated it, that it needs a complete rewrite so I have an excuse to not shut the door on Garrett, Murphy, and Brianna.

The next return to Rankin Flats will feature an all new cast, but won’t be for a few years yet until I’ve dipped my fingers into a few other genre pies. Look for that to be a more lighthearted take on the universe.

Next up will be A Shot at Us, another romance, I think, though this time I’ll probably label it as contemporary fiction in the vain hopes it sells a touch better. It’s going to be a bit of a modern take on It’s a Wonderful Life, and it will likely mark a new pattern in my writing – personal project followed by a more crowd-pleasing genre novel.

So yeah, I’m in a weird mood about all this. It’s bittersweet to say goodbye to Garrett’s own little band of princes, but I think the series goes out on a couple of high notes in Smyle and Plague of Life, and I really look forward to getting the latter into your hands at the end of the month.

Come April, I’ll have a complete series available. That’s pretty damn weird.
